| Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We’re excited to share that our founding principal, Scott Simons, will be retiring at the end of March 2026, after an incredible 48-year career in architecture.
Scott has helped shape some of the most meaningful civic and cultural spaces in Maine and northern New England, and his leadership has had a lasting impact on our firm and the broader design community. As a co-founder of the Portland Society for Architecture, an AIA Fellow, and a mentor to many, his contributions go far beyond buildings — he’s helped build a community.
Since founding Simons Architects in 1995, Scott has cultivated a studio culture grounded in collaboration, creativity, and service. Brought together by these shared values and principles, the five partners and the fifteen-member team will build on this vision as the studio continues to grow and evolve.
Scott will continue to be active in the studio on his current schedule through March and looks forward to the exciting things to come. We’re deeply grateful for Scott’s leadership and wish him all the best as he begins this next chapter. |
